Job Summary
Senior Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop high-frequency, high-density DC/DC power converters, lead and coach junior engineers, review PCB layouts and design documents, perform design reviews and validation, research new technologies, model and simulate circuits, optimize topologies (Buck, Boost, Flyback, Resonant, LLC, ZVS, Synchronous), ensure compliance with safety standards, generate documentation for manufacturing and marketing, and coordinate with suppliers in a largely on-site role with one flex remote day per week.
Required Qualifications
- BSEE with 4 years, MSEE with 3 years or Ph.D. with 1 year experience in designing & developing high-frequency, high-density DC/DC power converters preferred
- Minimum 2 years in product development with evidence from concept to prototyping to manufacturing production
- Solid experience with MathCAD, PSpice, SIMplis or other design simulation software tools
- Experience with PCB ECAD tools (Orcad, Altium)
- Knowledge of high frequency high-density switching power supply design including circuit topologies, control theories, EMI/RFI, and PCB layout
- Experience in power conversion topologies (Buck, Boost, Flyback, Resonant, LLC, ZVS, Synchronous)
- Understanding of thermals, mechanical and packaging challenges
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing technologies and production variances
- Experience in digital control via embedded controllers and related firmware
- Ability to lead and coach team members
- On-site role with one flex day remote per week
