Job Summary
Take ownership of electrical system design and development for complex engineering projects, producing and reviewing schematics and wiring diagrams using EPLAN and Teamcenter. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations while overseeing system integration, verification, and validation activities. Provide technical leadership through mentorship of junior engineers, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and support supplier engagement. Investigate technical issues via root cause analysis and contribute to project planning, scheduling, and risk management. Full onsite presence required in Dorset; candidates must be eligible for BPSS security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior electrical engineering or design role within complex or regulated industries
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar
- Familiarity with PLM systems such as Teamcenter
- Solid understanding of relevant engineering standards (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE)
- Ability to lead technical reviews and make critical engineering decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience identifying and resolving design issues
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain BPSS clearance
