Job Summary
Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer responsible for Electrical Controls engineering for capital projects in JM's Insulation Systems manufacturing operations. Role spans scoping, sizing, design, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, justifications, training and documentation; supports on-site collaboration with proximity to McPherson, KS; Defiance, OH; Phenix City, AL; Winder, GA; Willows, CA with a hybrid work schedule when not traveling. Focus areas include power and control systems engineering, technical specifications, compliance with standards, supplier/contractor coordination, project budgeting and reporting, start-up and training for plant personnel, and remote manufacturing support. Requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related) and 5+ years of experience, proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI, NFPA 70E knowledge, and strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
- minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications (programming and networking)
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace (arc flash energy and shock hazards)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience leading electrical/controls projects with budgets >$500k to $2M
- Ability to work with multi-discipline teams and meet milestones
- Willingness to travel 40-60%
- Ability to design and execute projects within North America
