Job Summary
Conduct relay setting, power system, arc flash, cable ampacity, transient, harmonic, and renewable energy calculations using ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV software. Perform grounding and induction studies while collaborating with project teams to deliver tailored solutions for substation, transmission, nuclear, and renewable energy projects. Travel to client offices and project sites for on-site consultation as needed. Lead teams in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve workflows, reduce rework, and generate efficient design documentation.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems)
- 5 or more years of experience performing electrical analysis
- Experience performing analysis of power systems using software such as: ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP-RV
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others
- Willingness or ability to lead others who use modern tools
- Willingness or ability to direct automation and process-improvement work
- Ability to oversee engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Successful completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) exam
- Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields
