Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer (Power) leads power systems design for water and wastewater facilities in Portland. The role involves detailed electrical power systems design, load calculations, short-circuit analyses, voltage drop, harmonic distortion analysis, and power factor corrections; design of MCCs, switchgear, and conduit routing; developing specifications and construction documentation; leading field investigations and startup/commissioning; providing construction-phase engineering support; ensuring NEC, NFPA 820, NESC compliance; mentoring junior engineers; coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; and maintaining client-facing collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- PE (Professional Engineer) registration
- 6–15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in consulting
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis including short circuit current, voltage drop, harmonics, and power factor
- Experience with NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and IEEE Color Book standards
- Field investigation and startup/commissioning experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong client-facing capabilities
