Senior EICA Engineer - Water / Wastewater

Job Summary

Lead defined discipline tasks across feasibility, concept, and detailed design for major water and wastewater programmes. Prepare, check, and coordinate technical deliverables including calculations, specifications, drawings, and models while managing interfaces, scope, budget, and programme. Take ownership of work packages, manage technical quality and risk, and lead site visits with clients, operators, and contractors. Apply digital tools and data analysis to improve delivery efficiency, support CDM/safety-by-design reviews, and mentor engineers. Coordinate multidisciplinary MEP/treatment design and resolve technical issues across disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • BEng/MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status, or able to demonstrate significant CEng-level experience while actively progressing towards chartership
  • 6+ years' relevant engineering design experience
  • UK water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Proven ability to deliver discipline design packages within multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong ability to prepare and check discipline-specific calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings, models and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of UK water industry standards, CDM 2015, safety-by-design and relevant discipline requirements
  • Ability to coordinate interfaces and resolve technical issues across disciplines
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to deliver to agreed scope, budget and programme
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to lead technical discussions and present recommendations clearly
  • Right to work in the UK

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AMP8, WINEP, SROs, D&B, framework, alliance or major capital delivery environments
  • Experience in advanced treatment, sludge/bioresources, nutrient removal, water reuse, pumping, package plant, energy recovery or automation-led improvements
  • Experience with digital delivery tools such as BIM/3D coordination, process simulation, hydraulic modelling, dashboards, Python, VBA, Power BI or automated calculations
  • Experience supporting FAT/SAT, commissioning, performance testing, HAZOPs or technical assurance reviews
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and improving discipline workflows or technical standards
