Job Summary
Establish and promote a safe, healthy work environment by identifying, evaluating, and controlling occupational hazards in compliance with federal and local regulations. Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures to manage risks associated with company operations while fostering a safety culture that exceeds mandated standards. Lead investigations on incidents, near misses, and accidents to ensure root cause eliminations and maintain close contact with regulatory agencies and industry personnel. Serve as the primary advisor on EHS issues for all management levels, coordinate internal resources to analyze pending legislation, and manage relationships with treating physicians and attorneys for worker's compensation claims. Manage a team of up to 7 direct reports, including nursing and security staff, to oversee compliance initiatives and mitigate potential fines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health, and Safety or related field
- 6-8 years of relevant experience
- 5 – 8 years supervisory/leadership of EHS in a manufacturing environment
- Up to 15% travel
- Knowledge of applicable state regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Proven success leading, developing and/or implementing a safety operating system
- Certification in a specialized EHS field (i.e. Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environmental Engineering, etc.)
