Job Summary
Senior Effects Planner to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of operational-level planning, synchronization, and integration; provide planning analytics, assessments, target development, and planning advocacy; draft major special operations documents (CONPLANs, OPORDs) and advise military staff on interpretation and application; lead cross-functional planning teams; deconflict resources and timelines; develop Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness to assess operation outcomes; prepare briefings for senior leadership; ensure plans align with national-level directives and strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of combined work-related experience with minimum of 5 years since 2020 as a Planner at the O-6 or higher level within USSOCOM Enterprise or Interagency equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning teams
- Experience facilitating working groups to deconflict resources, timing, and objectives between different subordinate commands and staff sections
- Ability to identify key vulnerabilities and nodes within a target system that, if acted upon, will produce the desired effect
- Skilled at translating complex operational problems into clear, concise briefings and reports that directly inform planning and operations
- Works with a high degree of autonomy to tackle difficult and ambiguous planning scenarios
- Active TS/SCI and with the ability to obtain a CI Poly if needed
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Government, International Affairs/Relations, or closely related discipline; or War College graduate; or Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Government, International Affairs/Relations, or closely related discipline with 5 additional years of senior-level experience; or 15 years of military experience as a Planner
