Job Summary
Shape Make It's daily and enterprise coverage by identifying compelling angles, elevating story ideas, and ensuring every piece is clear, useful, and true to the brand voice. Sharpen reported content, improve structure and flow, craft irresistible headlines, and develop smart editorial franchises that connect with ambitious readers. Monitor the news cycle, spot emerging trends, and steer coverage while collaborating across editorial and audience teams to produce timely, engaging journalism. Balance the need for speed, accuracy, and creativity in a fast-moving digital newsroom. This role is based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, with a hybrid schedule of at least three days in the office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of editing experience in a digital newsroom or publishing environment
- At least 3 years managing an editorial team
- Proven journalism skills and editorial judgment
- Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, digital news production and journalistic standards
- Proven ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging for a broad audience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Experience editing short and long form with accuracy, readability, structure, tone and legal standards in mind
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and effectively under deadline pressure
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Firm grasp of AP Style guidelines and editorial best practices
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

- Media training and experience as an expert on live television is a plus

- Strong collaborator across editorial, product, and business teams
- Creative and entrepreneurial within an established media company
