Job Summary
Senior Ecology Consultant responsible for authoring technical ecological reports, analyzing bat sound data (Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope), and using GIS tools (QGIS/ArcGIS) for desk studies, site scoping, protected species records, and biodiversity net gain assessments. Will work to tight deadlines using approved methodologies, collaborate with team members, manage workload independently, liaise daily with UK teams, support bid preparation and handle work enquiries under senior guidance, and engage in CPD. Requires a degree in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Engineering, 8–10 years of UK ecology project experience, proficiency with Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope, GIS expertise, UKHab and Defra Metric familiarity, strong data analysis and report writing, knowledge of UK/EU wildlife legislation, and excellent collaboration and communication skills. Open to international projects with experience in project management, mentorship, and leadership potential. Required Qualifications
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Engineering
- 8-10 years of experience in UK ecology projects
- Experience with Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope
- Proficient in GIS (QGIS/ArcGIS)
- Familiarity with UKHab classification and Defra Metric
- Strong data analysis and report writing skills
- Understanding of UK/EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience in international projects
- Project management (technical, financial, QA)
- Membership of CIEEM
