Senior Ecologist

Job Summary
As a Senior Ecologist, you will provide technical advice, lead ecology surveys, prepare tenders, and contribute to ecological deliverables including Ecological Management Plans and Ecological Impact Assessments. Responsibilities include client liaison, project management, and mentoring team members. The role requires academic qualifications in a relevant discipline, experience with PEAs and protected species surveys, knowledge of ecological legislation, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline
- Protected species license(s) or other specialist skill sets relevant to ecological consultancy
- Experience in undertaking PEAs, UKHab surveys and protected species surveys
- Experience in the production of fee quotations and tenders and inputting into technical ecological reports
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and policy, and ecological survey methodologies
- Strong communication skills and a solution-focussed and proactive attitude
Desired Qualifications
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
- Ability to author Ecological Impact Assessments
