Senior Ecologist

Job Summary
Provide technical advice and lead on ecology surveys including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and UKHab surveys, and protected species surveys. Prepare tenders and suites of habitat, botanical and protected species surveys; contribute to ecological deliverables such as PEAs, Ecological Management Plans, Protected Species Reports, European Protected Species licence applications, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), and Habitats Regulations Assessments. Manage client liaison and project delivery, engage with regulators and stakeholders, mentor and train the ecology team, and contribute to a collaborative environment with strong emphasis on biodiversity outcomes and sustainable, nature-positive project impact.
Required Qualifications
- An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or equivalent
- Protected species license(s) or other specialist skill sets relevant to ecological consultancy
