Job Summary
Conduct ecological surveys including protected species assessments and habitat evaluations, and prepare comprehensive reports such as Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain studies. Advise clients on constraints and mitigation strategies while collaborating with landscape planning teams to deliver integrated solutions. Support Environmental Impact Assessments and planning applications, liaise with regulators and stakeholders, and contribute to fee proposals and tender documents. Requires a degree in Ecology, minimum two years of consultancy experience, and knowledge of UK wildlife legislation. Salary ranges from £36,000 to £45,000 with a hybrid remote setup of two office days and two remote days.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies
- Proven experience in conducting and leading a variety of ecological surveys
- Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG
- Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
- A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites

- Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS)
