Job Summary
Senior EC&I Engineer to lead EC&I design activities for the Sellafield SPRS project, delivering radiometric system designs across multiple project phases (detailed design, procurement, manufacture, installation, commissioning). Responsibilities include maintaining the EC&I design configuration baseline, handling change control, producing and approving EC&I design deliverables to schedule, providing technical oversight of the EC&I supply chain, coordinating system integration with multidisciplinary teams via BIM and formal design reviews, supporting development of junior engineers, and ensuring alignment with nuclear and conventional safety requirements through validation and verification processes. The role requires experience delivering EC&I design in highly regulated industries, with familiarity in safety and compliance, and mentoring capability; proficiency in CAE/modelling tools and awareness of relevant UK legislation and industry good practices. The position is based in Warrington, UK, with hybrid working arrangements and a focus on safety, integrity, and collaboration within a culture that supports flexible working arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- BEng/MEng in a relevant discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience with an HNC/HND
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards chartership
- Significant EC&I design experience in regulated industries; nuclear sector desirable
- Proficiency with CAE and modelling tools (e.g., Autodesk AutoCAD, BIM/3D modelling)
- Mentoring capability for junior engineers
- Strong understanding of UK legislation and design codes related to EC&I
