Job Summary
Senior DSP Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing RF calibration software modules for a next-generation fixed wireless broadband system. Focuses on L1 functionality of proprietary 5G protocol, including channel estimation, IQ imbalance correction, and LO leakage cancellation. Develops software for base station and user equipment across multicore DSP/ARM with RTOS, collaborating with FPGA/ASIC teams to deliver cross-layer features. Responsibilities include designing calibration software architecture, HW/SW interfaces, APIs, and RFIC impairment correction algorithms; hands-on C/C++ implementation; system integration and debugging on complex hardware; and mentoring junior engineers. Requires MS or PhD in EE with wireless/ DSP emphasis, 5+ years of DSP/ARM/Linux/RTOS experience, and strong knowledge of RFIC impairments, OFDM, and embedded systems. The role offers a salary range of $130,000 to $175,000 with competitive benefits at Tarana, headquartered in Milpitas, CA.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in wireless communication and/or digital signal processing
- 5+ years of industry experience with DSP/ARM core running Linux or RTOS
- Industry experience in RFIC software development for wireless systems (5G, LTE, WiFi, or similar)
- Strong understanding of RFIC impairments and compensation using Real-Time SW
- Experience with multi-core embedded systems, RTOS, memory and cycle optimization
- Version control and issue tracking experience (Git, Gerrit, Gitlab, Jira, Confluence)
- Calibrations for multi-antenna systems; beamforming and MIMO; adaptive equalization; receiver synchronization
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python; knowledge of RFIC impairments and compensation techniques
- Experience with system integration and bring-up
- Formal understanding of communication theory and OFDM
