Job Summary
Perform dose calculations, develop and implement conventional and advanced image-based computer plans, design and fabricate treatment aid devices, and conduct routine dose measurements. Oversee all patient setup and simulation while participating in department quality management and improvement initiatives. Provide supervisory advice and guidance for non-routine or complex treatment planning and calibration. This solo dosimetry position supports a team of one radiation oncologist, one physicist, and three therapists treating 20 patients daily at VCU Massey Cancer Center's satellite facility in South Hill, Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- CMD by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
- Bachelor's degree in science
- Minimum of four (4) years of full-time dosimetry experience
- IMRT
- VMAT
- SBRT
- Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
- Current CMD
- Minimum of four (4) years of full-time dosimetry experience to include IMRT, stereotactic or brachytherapy planning
- Bachelor's Degree in Science (e.g. chemistry, biophysics, dosimetry, radiation therapy, radiologic science or other physical science)
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Dosimetry from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program
