Job Summary
Lead end-to-end project delivery for clients, identifying risks and implementing scalable solutions that align with technical constraints and long-term sustainability. Shape architecture, improve internal processes, and ensure high-quality standards while mentoring junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and technical guidance. Collaborate with front-end teams, designers, and external partners in integrated sprint teams to deliver exceptional digital products using Python, Django, and Wagtail CMS. Proactively suggest workflow improvements and manage complex system integrations across multiple vendors.
Required Qualifications
- a minimum of 4 years of Python backend web development experience
- Strong experience with Django
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs consumed by multiple third parties
- Experience with complex system integrations across multiple external vendors
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows
- Solid understanding of database design, optimisation, and administration
- Strong experience with testing and quality assurance (unit, integration, etc.)
- Ability to own projects end-to-end, from planning through to delivery and support
- Experience identifying issues early and proactively suggesting improvements to internal processes and workflows
- Confidence to challenge assumptions, contribute to technical discussions, and collaborate with external teams and vendors
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical leadership across projects
- A team-player mindset with strong initiative and leadership qualities
- Working proficiency in English

- Experience with Wagtail CMS (or similar CMS platforms) is a plus
