Job Summary
Prepare and review electrical drawings including single lines, relay logic, breaker DC schematics, and substation layouts. Generate relay setting files for SEL and GE protective relays and prepare generation interconnection drawings for conventional and renewable energy resources. Compile bills of material, design basis documents, and technical specifications while maintaining project data. Execute complex engineering tasks autonomously, manage multiple tasks according to EPE procedures, and participate in multifunctional teams to address technical studies and client feedback. This role supports EPE's mission to design the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence and renewable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Seven years of experience
- US state Professional Engineer License, or ability to gain within six months of hire
- High standards in producing quality drawings and documents
- Familiar in preparing relay setting files for SEL and GE relays
- Familiar with SEL Quickset, SEL RTAC, GE Enervista UR Setup
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for SLDs and three-line diagrams
- Familiar with power system protection analysis tools and software including ETAP and ASPEN
- Strong technical/report preparation skills
- Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Capable of managing multiple tasks
- Flexible with the ability to manage change
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Three years of experience preparing and reviewing protection and control drawings
- Three years of experience in protection studies and relay settings preparation
- Proficient working with AutoCAD
- Experience with renewable generation (wind, solar, battery) interconnection design
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
