Job Summary
Design and ship production backend services in Go and/or Rust, managing high-throughput telemetry ingestion pipelines using gNMI, NETCONF, and SNMP. Develop RESTful and gRPC APIs for platform data while optimizing time-series storage layers and event streaming pipelines with Kafka or Kinesis. Own service reliability end-to-end through on-call rotation, incident response, and systemic improvements, ensuring observability via structured logging and distributed tracing. Deploy containerized workloads on Kubernetes across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments. This role is onsite in Santa Clara, CA, with up to 15% travel. Base salary ranges from $163,430 to $213,972.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of backend software engineering experience
- Proven, hands-on proficiency in Go and/or Rust
- Solid experience building and operating distributed data systems
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems
- Experience with cloud-native deployment
- Familiarity with observability tooling
- Comfortable writing SQL and working with both relational and time-series data models
- Strong engineering practices including test-driven or test-informed development, code review, CI/CD, and operational ownership including on-call
- Up to 15% domestic or international travel

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with network telemetry protocols (gNMI, NETCONF, SNMP)
- Prior work at a network equipment vendor or network management platform company
- Hands-on experience with graph databases or graph data models for network topology
- Familiarity with YANG data modeling
- Prior experience working with device configuration schemas in network management contexts
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS backend services with strong data isolation and per-tenant resource management
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure, observability, or networking projects
- Published technical writing on distributed systems topics
- Experience working in or adjacent to regulated, security-conscious environments (FedRAMP, NIST, or equivalent)
