Senior Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Analyst

Job Summary

Analyze DER performance to identify trends, optimization opportunities, and root causes of underperformance. Verify data accuracy against financial settlement statements, invoices, and market reports to ensure proper payment and billing. Perform regular reconciliation of DER performance data from data acquisition systems, utility portals, and third-party aggregators. Assist in preparing financial reports covering revenue forecasting, performance-based incentive tracking, and cost analysis. Track project performance against financial targets and commercial obligations while investigating discrepancies with internal and external partners. Maintain a verified tariff library supporting prospective and existing customers throughout the tariff lifecycle, including utility changes and component expirations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Public Policy with 5+ years in data analysis or financial reconciliation within the utility or energy sectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field
  • Master's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, financial reconciliation, or a related role within the utility, energy, or technology sectors
  • Strong knowledge of utility regulatory processes, tariff structures, and rate design
  • Experience working with time-series interval data, especially electric meter readings (e.g. kW, kWh, kVA, etc)
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to distill complex regulations into clear business guidance
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in renewable energy, distributed generation, or energy storage markets
  • Familiarity with FERC, ISO/RTO market rules, and state-level regulatory environments
  • Advanced Excel and data validation skills
  • experience with financial modeling tools
