Job Summary
Dispatch ocean containers by coordinating appointments with LA and Long Beach Ports and managing chassis and container equipment. Communicate with customers, customs brokers, and terminal contacts to resolve service issues while monitoring fleet locations via system tracking or check calls. Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the TMS and maintain proper records to minimize per diem losses. Provide coaching and guidance to team members while collaborating with management to modify activities for customer needs. Submit daily rollover and recap reports to update managers and CSRs on progress and challenges.
Required Qualifications
- bilingual (English/Spanish)
- experienced with dispatching ocean containers
- experience with PortPro software
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Desired Qualifications
- At least two years related experience preferred
- Supervisory experience in the transportation industry preferred
