Job Summary
Senior Disaster Recovery Advisor leads survivors through the recovery process focusing on insurance funding, rebuild planning, and construction decisions. Brings deep hands-on residential construction expertise to interpret contractor scopes, budgets, and settlement terms, translating complex documents into actionable decisions for families. Manages a caseload of complex, high-stakes engagements (total losses and severe partial losses), serves as a senior resource for advisors and the broader team, and contributes to training, onboarding, and quality standards. Responsibilities include guiding recovery navigation, reviewing contractor scopes and budgets, identifying gaps or red flags, explaining rebuild timelines and material choices in plain language, and coordinating with vendors and specialists to support survivors throughout intake to resolution. AI fluency is expected to accelerate modeling, workflow automation, and insights. Bonus familiarity with Xactimate, adjusters, carriers, TPAs, and catastrophe-response experience. The role emphasizes purpose-driven work, ownership, and a fast-moving environment.
Required Qualifications
- Significant hands-on experience in residential construction
- Experience in disaster recovery, insurance claims, or survivor recovery navigation
- Ability to guide individuals or families through high-stakes, emotionally complex situations
- Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, line-item budgets, appraisal reports, and contractor proposals
- Clear, empathetic communicator with homeowners and technical documents
- Highly organized and self-directed with a complex caseload
