Job Summary
Lead the newscast production team and deliver on-air content as a Senior Director at WTKR. Responsibilities include directing newscasts, developing coding for animation, preparing the studio, collaborating with producers, and managing broadcast equipment. Requires ability to direct newscasts in fast-paced environments, extensive video production knowledge, and experience with broadcast automation systems. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or relevant experience, specialized training, and a minimum of 5 years in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
- Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred
- Specialized training/certification may be required
- Ability to formulate, block and direct newscasts
- Working knowledge of state-of-the-art video switchers and effects
- Familiar with routers, video servers, audio consoles, robotic studio cameras, graphics systems and studio production equipment
- Ability to perform constant viewing of multiple video and computer monitors
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge in all areas of video production
- Knowledge of newsroom computer systems
- In-depth knowledge of automation systems
- Knowledge of studio lighting board
- Ability to supervise and evaluate Ignite Directors
- Good computer skills
- Effective communication and people skills
