Job Summary
Senior Director – Tax leading tax planning, compliance, and strategic tax initiatives for a large data-center and edge infrastructure company. Drives tax provisions for US and Canada, coordinates audits and correspondence with tax jurisdictions, supports financial reporting with footnotes, and leads a tax team in areas including depreciation calculations, provision workpapers, and cross-border tax issues. Focuses on strategic growth initiatives, including business combinations, asset or stock acquisitions, joint ventures, and large construction projects, while improving policy, process, and software to scale the tax function. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, CPA, 10+ years of US corporate income tax compliance and tax provision experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Desirable familiarity with telecom/data center or real estate industries; must be authorized to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant
- 10+ years of US corporate income tax compliance / tax return experience
- 10+ years of income tax provision preparation including journal entries and footnotes
- Demonstrated experience with all tax types including income, sales and use, Canadian VAT, property and payroll taxes
- Demonstrated experience with transfer pricing concepts, transactions, documentation
- Effective at leading people / teams to ensure objectives are met
- Excellent communication skills with internal departments and executives
- Experience with software platforms for tax provision and compliance (CCH / Wolters Kluwer)
- ERP management experience (Netsuite preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 10+ years of US corporate income tax compliance experience
- 10+ years of income tax provision experience
- Experience with US federal, state, provincial tax compliance
- Experience with Canadian corporate tax and partnership reporting
- Knowledge of transfer pricing concepts and documentation
- Leadership experience managing tax teams
- Excellent communication with executive teams and other departments
- Experience with tax software platforms (CCH/Wolters Kluwer)
- ERP systems administration experience (Netsuite preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical/problem solving abilities
- Desirable: Telecom, data center, and/or real estate industry familiarity
