Senior Director, Responsible AI

Job Summary
Orchestrate and coordinate the AI Group's regulatory communication strategy across multiple jurisdictions, developing messaging frameworks that align with RBC's Responsible AI principles. Ensure all regulatory submissions maintain technical accuracy while acting as the central liaison between the AI Group and internal business units to resolve conflicts and ensure a unified organizational voice. Partner with HR and Corporate Communications to design and deliver training initiatives on responsible AI principles, creating educational materials that increase organizational AI fluency. Monitor the regulatory landscape and emerging best practices to provide recommendations for the evolution of the AI risk framework.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Law, Computer Science, Risk Management, or equivalent professional experience)
- 10+ years of professional experience in financial services, regulatory affairs, or risk management
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience liaising with financial regulators or regulatory bodies
- Demonstrated experience in IT risk management, governance frameworks, or technology governance
- 3+ years of people leadership and team management experience
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Track record of developing and implementing large-scale organizational communication or education initiatives
- Experience working in matrix organizational environments and coordinating across multiple stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification in IT risk management (e.g. CISSP, CRISC)
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, Law, or Risk Management
- Certifications in AI governance, ethics, or responsible technology
- Experience in financial regulatory bodies or supervisory roles
