Senior Director of Purpose & Social Impact

Senior Director of Purpose & Social Impact leads the strategic, programmatic, and operational direction of three family foundations’ philanthropic portfolios; partners with family members, boards, and internal stakeholders to align efforts with the family’s mission, values, and purposes. Responsibilities include defining mission/vision, governance with foundation boards, developing multi-year strategies, advancing grantmaking priorities and lifecycle from sourcing to evaluation, researching opportunities aligned with aims, assessing applications for strategic fit, and leveraging a broad network to inform recommendations. The role manages relationships with nonprofits, represents the foundations in networks, and leads program evaluation and learning. It also involves family engagement, team leadership, and ensuring operational excellence in due diligence, compliance, documentation, and reporting. The position reports to the Managing Director, Family Engagement & Learning and supervises a team, coordinating with investment colleagues to align strategies with mission, and shaping high-quality, impact-focused philanthropy across diverse focus areas.
