Senior Director of People

Job Summary
Lead the full people function and report directly to the CEO, inheriting a capable team to sharpen HR compliance, employment risk, and policy across four countries. Build a dedicated talent acquisition capacity and design a system that moves people upwards through hiring, onboarding, development, coaching, promotion, and reskilling. Translate the company's shift toward an intelligence layer into tangible changes for every role, ensuring automation is viewed as growth rather than a threat. You will lead through the team alongside them during the largest change in the company's fifty-year history, protecting the unquantifiable aspects of work while maintaining operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- An intrapreneurial mindset with ownership of building inside a company
- Experience shipping at least one thing nobody asked for that everybody now depends on
- A creative systems thinking approach to understanding what structures reward and punish
- Ability to understand and explain the intelligence layer (AI/automation) to employees without flinching or overpromising
- Experience defending unquantifiable value in a room full of people looking for numbers
- Focus on what exists between people (seams, shared standards, team dynamics)
- Instinct for who is worth betting on based on questions asked, curiosity under pressure, and how they describe failure
- Experience with self-awareness, curiosity, and real business judgment
- Experience leading people through a real transformation, not just a reorganization with a new logo
- Ability to coach leaders and name what changed because of that coaching
- Experience carrying HR compliance and employment risk across borders in a regulated industry
- Knowledge of the distance between a policy that reads well and one that holds under real pressure
- Experience in financial services and insurance
- Ability to work across four countries (Americas)
