Job Summary
Senior Director of Operations sought to lead and scale a plant-based nutritional beverage manufacturing operation. Responsibilities include overseeing the full production lifecycle from ingredient intake and formulation through processing, packaging, and distribution; driving yield improvements, waste reduction, and production efficiency; ensuring compliance with HACCP, CFIA, and SQF food-safety standards; managing procurement collaboration, budgets, KPIs, and supply-chain visibility; leading production planning, inventory management, and barcode-enabled traceability; championing lean initiatives and automation upgrades; guiding rapid growth (approximately 50% YoY) while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance; mentoring plant managers and cross-functional teams; collaborating with R&D on new product development, scale-ups, reformulations, and demand-driven production changes; and applying data-driven, scalable operating models to support increasing product and customer complexity. The role emphasizes leadership in a fast-growing facility, strong emphasis on quality, safety, sustainability, and operational excellence, with a compensation range of CAD 150k-190k and emphasis on culture, benefits, and growth opportunities. Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage manufacturing, preferably within cold chain and/or perishable product environments
- Experience managing 3PL relationships and supporting food and beverage export operations into the U.S. and other international markets is considered a strong asset
- Hands-on experience with Canadian food safety regulations, certifications, and audits (CFIA, HACCP, SQF)
- Exceptional people leadership skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams around performance, quality, and safety goals
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with hands-on experience implementing and optimizing inventory systems and barcode-driven inventory, lot traceability, and fulfillment processes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading operations in a fast-growing manufacturing environment with the ability to scale facilities, teams, and systems
- Proven track record in food and beverage manufacturing, preferably plant-based or perishable products
- Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, and regulated food manufacturing
