Job Summary

Develop and articulate a strategic vision for the engineering organization, overseeing the creation and execution of roadmaps to drive platform modernization. Lead a diverse team of engineering leaders and individual contributors, managing talent acquisition, professional development, and performance while fostering high-performance accountability. Direct technical solutions for system reliability, scalability, and security, enforcing best practices including CI/CD processes, code quality standards, and compliance with SOC 2 and PCI requirements. Manage the engineering budget, allocate resources to prioritize high-impact projects, and mitigate technical, security, and operational risks. Ensure alignment with business goals through transparent communication with executive leadership and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and business teams. Maintain a sustainable operational model for remote or hybrid workforces, advocating for ethical behavior and a customer-first mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams at scale
  • Strong understanding of software development, architecture, and systems design
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills
  • Track record of cultivating high-performance, diverse teams
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to align engineering efforts with business goals
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in software engineering
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes
  • Knowledge of security/compliance standards
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to make sound technical decisions under pressure
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering initiatives
  • Experience managing teams of 20+ engineers
  • Hands-on expertise in recruitment, talent development, and performance management
  • Demonstrated success in scaling engineering operations
  • Experience implementing best practices in software development, testing, and deployment

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Expertise in modern software development frameworks and languages including Java, Python, Go, or Node.js
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
