Job Summary
Senior Director of Data, BI and Engineering responsible for setting the strategy and vision for BI/DA teams and overseeing data analytics platforms. Leads data governance, data engineering, ML/AI roadmap, and production deployment of models with CI/CD. Focuses on KPI/dashboard development across the enterprise, self-service reporting, data exploration, and security/compliance (HIPAA). Requires extensive leadership experience, expertise in BI/Data Analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Azure), SQL, Python, Claude/RAG, ML/AI, data warehousing, and knowledge of data governance. Strong ability to collaborate with internal staff, partners, and clients and to build a high-performing team and communicate with C-level stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in computer science, mathematics, operations, management, or a related field is required
- MBA or a master’s degree would be a significant plus
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity
- Industry/domain skills in the healthcare industry will be a plus
- BI/Data Analytics platform experience
- Experience with AI generated code, Claude, and RAG
- Experience with Machine Learning applications and ML Ops
- Azure cloud experience and microservices architecture
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL, data warehousing
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, and measure results
- Knowledge of data security frameworks (HIPAA) and governance
