Job Summary
Define and execute the local medical strategy for the oncology portfolio, translating global clinical plans into locally relevant initiatives aligned with Canadian regulations. Build and lead the country Medical Affairs team while managing medical launch readiness, including training, scientific materials, and field engagement plans. Drive scientific exchange through advisory boards, investigator meetings, and congress engagement, ensuring compliance with national and regional codes. Partner with Market Access, Commercial, and Global teams to support value communication, reimbursement interactions, and lifecycle management activities. Establish medical governance processes and foster a culture of scientific rigor within the Canadian Leadership Team.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD, or PharmD)
- Strong background and experience in oncology
- 10+ years' experience in Medical Affairs with a track record of country leadership
- Proven value and benefit assessment experience, with deep understanding of Canadian payer decision-making
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
- Proven experience supporting oncology product launches in Canada
- Strong understanding of the local healthcare system, clinical practice, and regulatory environment
- Experience in a biotech and/or in a build-out
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and virtual
- Proven leadership and people management capabilities; demonstrated success in small but fast growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Scientific and solution-orientated mindset and capability to move and execute in a rapidly changing, ambiguous environment
- Strong understanding of local healthcare systems, customer dynamics, and reimbursement environments
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
