Job Summary
Lead the independent risk management oversight of the Insurance business by delivering organizational guidance through rigorous monitoring, control environment assessments, and transparent communication of material market risk positions. Implement and coordinate an integral market risk management framework for the Insurance Companies' balance sheet, performing gap analyses to establish remediation plans for adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee regular reviews of the Risk Appetite and Risk Limits frameworks, develop comprehensive Financial Risk Oversight policies, and conduct due diligence for new products while advising senior management on potential developments and risk trends. Manage the design and delivery of key components of the strategic market risk platform within the second line.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record leading risk management or market oversight functions
- Executive-level engagement skills, including the ability to debate and advocate positions with conviction and passion
- Business Advisory experience with the proven ability to communicate complex concepts concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong understanding of financial markets, trading businesses, alternative assets, exchange traded and over the counter markets and applicable risk frameworks
- Thorough knowledge of traded products including derivatives and their associated risks
- CFA, CA or other related professional qualifications
- People Leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Actuarial or insurance industry experience
- Good understanding of the bank and insurance dealer regulatory environment
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices
