Job Summary
Senior Director, IT Applications & Data Strategy to lead the vision, roadmap, and execution for Encoded’s enterprise applications and data capabilities, enabling practical, secure, and scalable AI across the business. Partner with stakeholders to build an integrated application and data ecosystem supporting growth, operational rigor, and decision-making in a regulated life sciences environment. Oversee data strategy, architecture, integrations, analytics, governance, and AI-enabled automation, while ensuring compliance with GxP and SOX. Drive vendor management, budgets, and change management to deliver measurable business outcomes; lead a lean team of internal and consulting resources.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or commensurate work experience
- 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with enterprise applications, data strategy, and cross-functional delivery in life sciences
- Experience with ERP, HRIS, quality, regulatory, clinical, manufacturing and research platforms; preference for medical and commercial platforms
- Experience developing data and analytics strategies including data architecture, governance, and reporting
- Technical expertise in Veeva, NetSuite, Coupa and Benchling platforms
- Experience identifying and enabling AI and automation use cases in an enterprise setting
- Proven ability to engage with executive stakeholders and translate strategy into roadmaps and investments
- Strong program/project delivery skills across business analysis, solution design, implementation, validation, release management, training, and change management
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing internal teams and external partner ecosystems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with modern BI, data warehousing and analytics capabilities
- Experience scaling applications and compliance from clinical to commercial
- Understanding of regulatory requirements including GxP, privacy and SOX; public company experience a plus
- This is a hybrid position with some onsite time at the Encoded headquarters in South San Francisco
