Senior Director - Hydrogeology

Job Summary
Lead contaminated land practice growth through client relationship management and market expansion initiatives. Manage end-to-end project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control for investigation and remediation works. Design, implement, and interpret hydrogeological field test results while developing and calibrating groundwater models to assess migration and inform remediation strategies. Oversee field operations, site inspections, sampling, drilling, and contractor management. Conduct risk assessments for controlled waters and human health, preparing technical reports, proposals, and specifications. Mentor early and mid-career professionals while supporting senior team client care activities. Requires 15+ years of environmental consulting experience, project management expertise, and valid UK driver's license. Based in Manchester, Bristol, Delph, or fully remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geology, earth sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field of study
- At least 15 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrable track record of project delivery in the site investigation and remediation sector
- Experience of directing and managing the overall delivery of projects including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments and meeting strict deadlines
- Valid UK driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in hydrogeology, or a related field of study
- Professional registration (e.g. CGeol / CSci / EurGeol)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers
