Job Summary
Senior Director, Global Data Science (Oncology) leads the data and AI strategy for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s Global Oncology portfolio, shaping how advanced analytics, real-world data, and AI drive business decisions from early pipeline to global launch and in-market optimization. Responsible for applying Engagement.ai and AI-enabled insights to inform go-to-market strategy, launch readiness, and lifecycle optimization, while leading a high-performing data science team, partnering across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, R&D, and regional organizations to deliver actionable insights that accelerate patient impact and maximize portfolio value. Oversees integration of diverse datasets (real-world, clinical, claims, digital), governance and privacy considerations, and the translation of complex analytical outputs into clear, business-ready recommendations for senior leaders. Requires leadership in AI transformation initiatives, forecasting, patient identification, segmentation, and engagement optimization, with extensive collaboration across cross-functional teams and a willingness to travel up to 35%.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MS) in a quantitative or scientific discipline
- Significant experience (10+ years) applying data science in pharmaceutical commercial setting
- Deep expertise in AI/ML, predictive analytics, and advanced analytics; experience with generative and agentic AI for commercial use cases
- Strong partnering skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization
- Proven track record leading and scaling high-performing analytical teams to deliver measurable business impact
- Experience in oncology data and oncology portfolio understanding (preferred)
