Senior Director, Financial Operations and Actuarial Strategy - Emory Health Plan

Job Summary
Build and sustain financial operating systems, reporting cadences, and vendor financial controls supporting EHP's growth as a large self-funded health plan. Own vendor financial management, executing TPA and PBM invoice reconciliation, payment accuracy controls, and oversight of key vendor financial performance. Lead contract financial reviews across all agreements, flag risks, and support senior leadership in strategic contract negotiations with accurate financial data. Manage regulatory compliance for self-funded plans including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA, overseeing filings and coordinating internal and external audits. Develop IBNR reserve reporting and reconciliation processes, validate lag assumptions, and provide financial inputs for rate-setting, pricing, and stop-loss modeling. Manage and develop a team, directing additional staff to support reserve, compliance, and senior leadership modeling needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, health administration, business administration, or a related field
- 9+ years of progressive experience in health plan finance, managed care finance, or related healthcare financial operations
- demonstrated depth in financial controls, reporting, and accounting
- residency in the state of GA
- Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent accounting credential
- Master's degree in business administration, health administration, or a related field
