Job Summary
Senior Director- Enterprise & Merchant Engineering will lead large-scale engineering organizations across India, partnering with global technology teams to translate strategy into scalable delivery outcomes. Drive engineering excellence, talent development, and operational efficiency; lead distributed teams in a fast-paced environment; oversee end-to-end delivery, roadmaps, capacity planning, and governance. Provide technical leadership on high-level architecture, cloud modernization, and risk mitigation; foster innovation through best practices (test-driven development, automation, CI/CD, observability, release management) and ensure security, regulatory, and data protection standards. Collaborate with global technology, product, platform, and shared services teams, and partner with FP&A to optimize budgets and cost efficiency. Lead and scale multi-layered engineering organizations, hire and develop leaders, create an engaging inclusive culture, and drive data-driven decision making. Requirements include 18+ years in software engineering, large-team leadership, Java/full-stack expertise, cloud-native, DevOps, SDLC/Agile/Lean proficiency, and strong executive communication.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of experience in software engineering
- experience leading large-scale engineering organizations (~300+), including global or offshore teams
- experience supporting enterprise delivery, digital transformation, or global sourcing initiatives
- strong background in software engineering (Java and full-stack)
- deep understanding of scalable system design, reliability, and maintainability
- experience with cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices, and modern engineering toolchains
- strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and Lean delivery methodologies
- data-driven mindset with focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- able to lead through influence in complex, matrixed environments
- strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
