Job Summary
Directly manage engineering managers and senior engineers while contributing hands-on as a full-stack individual contributor on critical initiatives. Define technical roadmap and architecture standards, driving service-oriented architecture design and modernization from .NET Framework to modern .NET. Champion security-first and AI-first engineering cultures by integrating agentic workflows, threat modeling, and compliance into the SDLC. Design end-to-end solutions across front-end (Angular/React), back-end services, and databases, while troubleshooting complex production issues and guiding incident response. This player-coach role requires balancing leadership with deep technical execution to deliver clean, maintainable software for Springbrook's enterprise ERP platform.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience as a full-stack developer
- several years in engineering leadership (managing managers and/or senior engineers)
- Proven ability to work confidently across the full stack - UI, APIs, business logic, databases, and cloud infrastructure
- Deep expertise in .NET (modern .NET and .NET Framework) and C#
- Strong front-end experience with Angular and React
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, DevOps, networking, security services)
- Strong database skills with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL - schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Demonstrated commitment to security-first engineering (OWASP, secure coding, identity/access management)
- Practical experience with AI-first and agentic engineering - AI coding assistants, LLM-powered features, and/or agent-based workflows
- Track record of writing and enforcing clean, maintainable code and mentoring others to do the same
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- Proven ability to operate as both a people leader and a individual contributor
- This is a player-coach role: you will directly manage engineering staff, indirectly influence technical members across the organization, and contribute as a full-stack individual contributor on our most critical initiatives

- Enforce clean code principles, meaningful code reviews, and high standards for testing and maintainability
- Contribute directly to the codebase as a full-stack individual contributor on high-impact features and architectural work
- Design and build end-to-end solutions: front-end (Angular/React), back-end services and RESTful APIs (.NET), and the database layer (MS SQL, MySQL)
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and guide teams through incident response

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
- Experience with microservices, message queues, and event-driven architecture (Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Automated testing strategy: unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks
- Observability and monitoring (Application Insights, Datadog, or similar)
- Agile/Scrum leadership experience, including sprint planning and delivery management
- Experience with compliance frameworks relevant to your industry (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.)
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and leading platform migrations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
