Senior Director, Engineering

Job Summary
Senior Director of Engineering at Smithfield Foods leading capital projects across manufacturing locations; oversee capital programs, drive engineering leadership and team development, and ensure safety, compliance, budgeting, and strategic planning; collaborate with vendors, contractors, and engineering service providers to deliver high-value capital investments while guiding the Engineering Leadership Team toward operational excellence and continuous improvement. Strong emphasis on capital planning, project management standards, cross-functional leadership, and travel to project sites (approximately 50%).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Business or related field
- 12+ years of experience in Engineering management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management
- Prior experience as a Project Manager or similar role
- Experience leading multiple, complex, major capital investments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP
- Energized by collaboration through travel to other locations (50% of the time)
