Senior Director, Employee Engagement & Recognition

Job Summary
Leads enterprise employee engagement & recognition initiatives across the organization, overseeing the design and execution of onboarding programs (Day 1/30/60/90), engagement frameworks, surveys, and recognition activities. Partners with senior leadership, HR business partners, and Communications to standardize best practices across agencies, drives employee retention and experience for 70,000+ employees, and guides strategies to foster belonging, purpose, and organizational pride. Oversees cross‐agency collaboration, toolkits, and data‐driven insights to inform strategic recommendations; may require outside work hours and travel to other MTA locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressive work experience in employee engagement, organizational development, or related HR leadership roles (government or transportation sector experience strongly preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience
