Job Summary
Facilitate, coordinate, and lead economic development activities for rural Pottawattamie and Mills Counties, advancing business recruitment, retention, expansion, and entrepreneurship. Provide direct assistance to businesses and developers by identifying real estate opportunities, accessing incentive programs, coordinating utility infrastructure, and facilitating zoning and planning processes. Conduct regular outreach to City Councils, County Boards, and stakeholders; serve as lead project manager for new-to-market attractions and expansion projects. Build collaborative relationships with investors, municipal officials, utility providers, and regional organizations while monitoring policies and funding opportunities. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and boards, manage the Mills County Economic Development Foundation board, and maintain CRM and project management systems. Coordinate with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and ASWIC CEO.
Required Qualifications
- Reside in or have established business relationships in Pottawattamie County or Mills County
- At least five years of experience in economic, community or real estate development activities
- Valid Driver's License
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, Adobe and CRM platforms and software
- Must be able to work independently and display exceptional time management skills
- Ability to operate audio visual equipment
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects with short deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and oral)
- Team environment player
- Strong marketing and negotiation skills
- Must be able to drive and/or provide own transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to and/or experience with GIS software
