Job Summary
Senior Director Construction Management – Data Center Infrastructure responsibilities include overseeing all phases of nationwide powered land and data center infrastructure construction; managing RFPs, bid reviews, and contract negotiations with general contractors, civil firms, utility partners, and major equipment vendors; directing field execution to meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards; reviewing engineering drawings to identify risks and resolve conflicts; leading contractor/vendor onboarding; managing change impacts; coordinating with development, energy, engineering, and finance teams to align construction with project objectives; establishing project controls, including progress reporting, risk tracking, schedule management, and cost forecasting; developing and enforcing standards for construction management, reporting, and QA across sites; acting as on-site lead representing ownership with contractors, utilities, and partners; travel up to 50–75% to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of construction management experience, ideally in data centers, energy, utility, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects
- Strong background in infrastructure (power, substation, civil, utilities) construction management
- Bonus: experience with power generation projects, especially natural gas plants or large electrical interconnection infrastructure
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within budget
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing, design coordination, and field execution
- Ability to anticipate and prevent problems through proactive planning and direct communication
- Strong commercial acumen — skilled at evaluating bids, negotiating with contractors, and managing change orders
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% to project sites nationwide as needed
