Senior Director - Data & AI Engineering

Job Summary
Lead an elite team of data and AI/ML architects to drive product delivery, translating complex telemetry into shipped, high-value AI features. Partner with Product Management to define the AI roadmap, collaborate with core security researchers to integrate data pipelines, and work with UX designers to ensure intuitive, actionable user experiences. Remain hands-on by writing code, architecting solutions, and unblocking technical bottlenecks while establishing processes that balance rapid shipping with strict model guardrails and compliance. Communicate technical concepts and business impacts clearly to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. This role bridges deep technical innovation with product delivery for SonicWall's security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and traditional environments.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering leadership experience
- at least 3+ years managing high-performing data, machine learning, or platform engineering teams
- strong technical foundation in software architecture, distributed data systems, or machine learning
- comfortable looking at code and diving deep into technical design docs
- Proven experience shipping complex, data-driven features or enterprise SaaS products from scratch
- The ability to translate technical AI and data concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders, and vice-versa
Desired Qualifications
- ideally with modern generative AI and LLM orchestration
- Previous experience working in a security product environment (navigating security logs, firewall/cloud configurations, threat detection, or compliance frameworks)
