Job Summary

Senior Director of Corporate Partnership Sales at the Detroit Lions: lead full-cycle sponsorship sales from prospecting to closing, develop integrated advertising and sponsorship packages aligned with partner objectives, collaborate across departments to create data-backed asset programs, and manage high-level relationships with corporate executives. Responsibilities include strategy development, contract initiation, program fulfillment, ROI-focused relationship management, cross-functional collaboration, and providing leadership in a fast-paced, sports-entertainment environment. Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or related field, 7+ years of sponsorship sales experience, strong presentation and negotiation skills, travel willingness, and proficiency with MS Office; must be able to work non-traditional hours including game days and events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Communications, Marketing, or Management required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of sponsorship sales experience with a major league professional sports team or high-profile entertainment entity.
  • Experience leading and coaching a team of sales professionals in a competitive environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven interpersonal aptitude.
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment and generate effective solutions quickly.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.

  • Experience building and selling integrated sponsorship programs
  • Track record of closing large corporate sponsorships
  • Strong proposal development and presentation skills
  • Leadership experience managing a sales team (or mentorship)
  • Ability to travel as needed
