Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Job Summary

Close $8-10M annually by cultivating new relationships with national, regional, and local foundations and stewarding current donors to enhance existing partnerships. Manage a team of 3-5 foundation gift officers, providing direction on proposal development, grant writing, and budget preparation while ensuring compliance with donor terms and reporting deadlines. Strategically initiate full-spectrum engagement activities with institutional leadership and faculty to identify funding opportunities aligned with clinical, educational, and research priorities. Conduct prospect research to identify viable donors and collaborate with physicians and scientists to refine solicitation strategies. Document all development activity using the Trax database and work with the Office of Sponsored Program Administration to manage post-award follow-up.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 10-14+ years in healthcare foundation fundraising with a proven track record of success managing complex portfolios, soliciting and securing new commitments and building lasting relationships with institutional donors
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience strong interest in effective collaboration, communication, team building and team management
  • Deep knowledge and experience of innovations in and working with the local, national and international foundation landscape
  • Possesses the presence, inclusivity, and communication skills necessary to be an effective representative of NYU Langone Health and a liaison to the donor base
  • Develops and enhances relationships through authenticity, professionalism and trust
  • Facilitates understanding through listening and crafting and delivering messages that meet the needs of different audiences
  • Takes ownership of opportunities, challenges and decisions to drive work and the organization forward
  • Has the ability to lead, direct and motivate others; encourages and ensures professional development opportunities for reporting staff and acts as a mentor. Meets with reporting staff individually and as a full team
