Job Summary
Lead Spain and Portugal Corporate Affairs strategies spanning media relations, public affairs, and internal communications to support oncology-focused patient outcomes. Act as the primary spokesperson, drive media content around trial results and major congresses, and manage local crisis and reputation initiatives while aligning with global narratives. Own country-level policy mapping, engage with government and stakeholder institutions on access and reimbursement, and build team fluency in AI-enabled tools for audience insight and message drafting. Partner with Medical Affairs to translate clinical data for HCP and patient audiences, ensuring full compliance with European promotional codes and local regulations. Report to the VP of Corporate Affairs, Europe, with a dotted line to the General Manager of Spain and Portugal.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Communications, Political Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Excellent leadership, influence, and team mindset
- Strong ability to develop and deliver impactful Communications and Public Affairs campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including storytelling and policy translation for lay audiences
- Skilled in managing complex stakeholder environments and partnerships
- Minimum 10 years in Communications and Public Affairs in oncology
- Strong digital communications skills, with experience running campaigns and stakeholder engagement across web, social, and other digital channels
- Hands-on fluency with generative AI tools for communications workflows (drafting, monitoring, sentiment analysis), with an understanding of responsible use, disclosure, and governance in a regulated industry
- Deep understanding of the European healthcare policy and oncology landscape
- Proven track record of engaging with patient organizations, industry associations, and policymakers to deliver tangible policy and access outcomes
- Experience launching new oncology medicines and shaping policy to enable faster patient access
- Familiarity with reimbursement, HTA processes, and access barriers in oncology
- Travel: Approximately 50% of time

- Proven track record of successfully influencing healthcare policy and stakeholder perspectives in competitive markets
- Strong strategic and analytical skills with ability to translate vision into actionable plans and navigate complex healthcare policy challenges
- Successful experience in cross-functional collaboration within matrix organizations and fast-paced entrepreneurial environments
- Fluency in English, German, French, and/or Portuguese is considered advantageous
- Proficiency with MS Office and common business applications
