Job Summary
Senior Director, Underwriting & Portfolio Management leads regional UWPM functions, establishes governance frameworks, and drives risk management, portfolio strategy, and business growth across debt and equity in affordable housing. Responsible for credit approvals, pipeline analytics, portfolio reviews, and post-closing servicing coordination, while building deep relationships with developers, investors, syndicators, and government agencies. Seeks to innovate and improve underwriting processes, mentor a high-performing team, and represent Capital One Community Finance at external events; requires deep credit expertise, risk management, and leadership to cultivate a positive, high-impact work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 12 years of experience in underwriting, asset management, portfolio management or any combination of the three in affordable housing or commercial real estate
- Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (preferred)
- 7+ years of people leadership experience
- Experience leading regions, multifund function, and strategic governance in UWPM or related teams
