Job Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer responsible for guiding the transition from project planning to automated software deployment, mentoring junior developers, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with management on operational requirements, forecast project duration and costs, write automation scripts (Python, Shell, Perl, Java, Groovy), implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, manage AWS cloud infrastructure (GCP/Azure a plus), containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes and ArgoCD, and implement robust monitoring (CloudWatch, Graphite, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana). Ensure secure and compliant operations through SAML/SSO and data encryption, oversee system installation and configuration, and optimize deployment processes and performance. Location is remote in the United States, with the Texas region noted in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, including team management
- Extensive experience with Linux-based infrastructure
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Shell scripting
- Strong experience with configuration management tools like Ansible
- Knowledge of web application architecture and network fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP)
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with Jira and other project management tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
