Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer responsible for owning multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS primary, Azure secondary) and the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline. Drive IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, manage Kubernetes (EKS) and container image pipelines, optimize cloud costs, and lead platform reliability initiatives. Implement GitOps and automated deployment strategies (blue/green, canary), manage security tooling and SOC 2 compliance, and improve observability (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch). Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Product to raise automation-first practices, while shaping runbooks and incident response to reduce MTTR. Remote-friendly with open US-wide eligibility and Sacramento-based office presence. Include experience with IaC, CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud providers, security/compliance, and observability; familiar with SLAs/SLOs and developer enablement.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering experience
- Extensive AWS experience (EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM)
- Strong IaC skills with Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation
- Kubernetes/EKS experience
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or equivalent
- Scripting/automation in Typescript, Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go
- Proficiency with build tooling (nx, pnpm, maven, gradle)
- Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, VPNs, VPC peering, firewalls)
- Observability stack experience (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch)
- SOC 2 compliance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent hands-on experience
- Nice-to-have: ArgoCD/Flux, Istio/Linkerd, API gateways, cloud-native security, AWS certifications
