Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary
Build and setup new development tools, CI/CD flows, and infrastructure while automating and improving development and release processes. Work with software engineers to ensure development follows established processes, monitor system stability and performance, and recommend changes to enhance product quality. Enhance the Terraform codebase and infrastructure pipeline to support rapid feature delivery. Mentor development teams on DevOps best practices. Requires six years of professional experience, proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Jenkins/ArgoCD. Based in Bucharest, this role supports GE Vernova's Electrification Software products focused on energy transmission and decarbonization.
Required Qualifications
- +6 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Experience automating deployment scripts in Ansible or similar
- Excellent understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tooling: Terraform
- Experience deploying into or maintaining cloud environments using AWS or Azure
- Experience deploying and managing containerized environments with Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher
- Experience with Kubernetes package manager: Helm
- Experience in creating pipelines in Jenkins, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD GitHub Actions or similar
- Excellent understanding of source control tools: Git, GitHub
- Experience working in both Windows and Linux
- Experience with application metrics, performance monitoring and optimization
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana
- Working-level experience in scripting languages: Bash or Python
- Understanding of ELK stack technologies
- Experience with OSS management
